Wool vs synthetic hunting clothes

Hello all, I have several good wool hunting garments, but am looking to I have Filson, Hidden Wolf Woolens, and Cabelas brand wool clothing. So would wool be a better choice for backcountry hunting I am a runner and I swear my my synthetic clothes have a permenant funk.
